Virginia State Time Trial Championships

Held under a USA Cycling Event Permit. Race is on rain or shine!!

Venue: Out and back with one sweeping U-turn. Starting at the rescue squad building the course goes south on 301 to the turn around point and returns on the same road northbound.

Classes: If you want to compete in more than one category, you must register for both categories and race twice. Second race is $10. Juniors will have a 26-foot gear restriction.

Entry Fee: $10 for juniors and $25 for all other racers. Unlicensed racers must purchase a one-day UCI license for $5.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED!

Start times: 1st rider starts at 10:00 AM with one-minute lag times. Race packet must be picked up by 1 hour before your start time. Riders will be grouped according to age or category so that all riders are competing at roughly the same time of day with the same weather conditions. Registration open on www.bikereg.com

Registration closes at 11:00 PM August 26, 2004.

All entrants must present a current USCF license or purchase a One-Day license at number pick-up. Riders under 18 years of age must have the signature of a parent or guardian. All USCF rules for Time Trials will apply. ANSI Z90.4 or approved equal helmets are mandatory. Tank tops and sleeveless jerseys are NOT permitted. Stationary trainers and shade coverage recommended! Portable toilets and drinking water will be available on site.

Prizes - Medals for top 3 places in every licensed category and every age-graded category.

ELIGIBILITY: The event welcomes out-of-state riders to participate, however, only Virginia residents and U.S. Military stationed in Virginia are eligible for championship awards. Only racers with an annual USCF license will be eligible for a state championship award. Racers holding one-day licenses are not eligible for championship awards.

DIRECTIONS: Exit I-95 onto Rte. 40 West (South of Petersburg). Turn left onto Rte. 301. Proceed to parking area. Registration located in the Stony Creek Volunteer Rescue building.

No parking in the Rescue Squad Building area. There is a field just past the Squad building where parking will be available. There is also ample parking on the right on 301 before you get to the squad building.

NO WARMING UP ON THE COURSE!! You can warm up north on 301 or on route 40. The course is NOT closed to traffic. There will be law enforcement at several areas on the course, but you are responsible for your own safety. Always stay to the right when you are racing, other racers will be returning along the same route.
