Time Trial Information

Date:  Saturday, July 17, first rider is off at 10:01 AM
Entry Fee: $20, pre- registration only! Unlicensed riders must buy a single day license, $5 on-site.
Race Location:  The Time Trial starts on the corner of Walnut Ave & Belleview Ave (click for map) in Roanoke, Virginia.  NO PARKING!
Parking:  Participants must park at Victory Stadium (click for map).  Follow the signs to the Starting line located at Bellville and Walnut Ave SW Roanoke.  Ride your bike over to the time trial, click directions from parking (start on map) to time trial (end on map)
Arrival:  All riders must sign in and fill out a USCF Waiver 30 minutes prior to start.  Please download the waiver (Acrobat PDF) and fill it out prior to arrival.
Sanctioned:
  • USCF permit pending. All races will be conducted under the United States Cycling Federation rules.  Unlicensed riders must buy a single day license, $5, available at sign-in July 17th. Unlicensed riders may race Cat.5 men or Cat.4 women or their respective masters or junior category. (Time Trial Only!)
  • The now famous 1.7mile, 800 foot vertical jaunt up Roanoke's most famous rock returns to challenge cyclists. This practically single lane, non line road snakes its way through a stone gate, switchbacks, and a pretzel-twist under/over pass.  Road surface is excellent, with stunning views of the city below as you rise to the Mill Mountain Zoo and finish line.  Return trip to the start follows the main Blue Ridge Parkway spur back down to the base of the mountain.
  • Registration is closed.
  • Bathrooms are available in the Parks and Recreation building adjacent to the parking lot?  Signs will direct the participants to the venue from Victory stadium. The sign-in will be located near the starting line on Bellview and Walnut Avenues.  Start times will be pre-assigned and posted on Commonwealth Games and D-42 web site. Pre-registered racers must sign in 30 minutes prior to their start time. Times will be issued at one minute intervals, with the first rider off at 10:01 am. Field limit of 50 riders per class.
