*Total Distance includes the # of complete laps + 4.4 miles to the finish line location.
**Cat 5 Men and Cat 4 Women are NOT eligible for medals (Rule 5F2).
***PLUS KOM points awarded 3-places each lap (5pts, 3pts, 1pt) towards a CASH BONUS to the top 3 KOM leaders overall ($30, $25, $20) in each race. Must finish the race to win!
Entry Fee: $18 pre-registered. Add $5 Late Fee after July 31, 2000. Fees include all surcharges.
Registration opens @ 7:30 a.m. and closes 15 minutes before the start of each race. Event held rain or shine. All USCF rules apply. This event is held under a permit issued by U.S.A. Cycling.
Eligibility: This is an OPEN event for the above listed categories, however, medals are awarded only to Virginia residents and U.S. Military based in Virginia.
Course Description: A 10.7mile circuit of mainly flat-to-rolling country roads with textured pavement. Dense woods provide plenty of shade. There are 2 steep big-ring hills and 2 tight hairpin turns. The finish is located on the uphill section at the feed-zone hill on the far side of the course. 100% ROLLING ENCLOSURE.
Feed Zone / FINISH LINE parking is limited. Please carpool to the feed-zone.
All riders & team supporters must return to Camp Pipsico in the same direction as the race.
Results will be posted at Camp Pipsico as soon as possible following the finish of each race.
Lodging: The closest hotel chains are located in Williamsburg, Petersburg, and Richmond
Directions: Surry, VA is located on the south side of the James River directly across from the Jamestown settlement in Williamsburg. From Williamsburg: Use the ferry service in Jamestown. (The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry operates 24 hours on the half-hour for the 20-minute crossing to Surry County and is a FREE service.) From the ferry landing, proceed south on Rte 31 3.2mi. to Rte 620 right. Go 1.2mi. to a merge @ Rte 626. Continue straight another 1.2mi. to Rte 618 right. Follow signs to Camp Pipsico. (approx. 3.3mi.). From the East: Take Rte 10 west to the flashing light in "Downtown Surry" at the junction of Routes 10 & 31. Proceed straight thru intersection onto Rte 626 for 3.2mi to Rte 618 right. Follow signs to Camp Pipsico. From the West: Take Route 10 east to the junction of Routes 10 & 40. Turn left onto Rte 646 then bear right @ Rte 610. Proceed 2.7mi to Rte 626. Continue straight on 610 & follow signs to Camp Pipsico. From the South: Take Rte 40 north to junction of 10 & 40. Go straight onto Rte 646 then bear right @ Rte 610. Proceed 2.7mi to Rte 626. Continue straight on 610 & follow signs to Camp Pipsico.
